Craft
Every Coutille piece begins with four considerations: fabric, line, proportion, and make. Materials are chosen for their beauty, durability, and their ability to become more compelling with wear, while construction is approached with the same attention to permanence.
The partnerships formed with established fabric mills are fundamental to the house. Many have been producing for decades, in some cases centuries, carrying a level of knowledge and craft that is increasingly rare. That heritage becomes part of every Coutille piece, inherited through the material and through the precision, character, and permanence it brings to the finished garment.
Production is based in Porto and London, with Rome soon to follow, allowing Coutille to work closely with specialist makers and keep manufacturing as near to source as possible. The relationships built over time with these manufacturers remain integral to the house and to the quality of every finished piece.
Responsibility is considered through every stage of making, with a focus on natural fibres and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified materials. The same emphasis is placed on quality, care, and longevity, so that every Coutille piece is made to be worn often, kept over time, and valued for the precision of its making.
