The House
Coutille is founded on the belief that clothing should bring a person closer to themselves. Established in 2020 by Hannah Farrugia Sharples, it is shaped by the intention to create pieces that feel like an extension of the person wearing them: garments that become part of a life, part of an identity, and part of a lasting wardrobe.
The purpose is to shape a wardrobe of meticulously crafted pieces defined by ease, continuity, and permanence. Signature pieces are developed with close attention to fabric, cut, and silhouette, intended to be worn often and kept over time. Recognition is built through line and proportion, creating garments that feel distinct without requiring display.
Presented in chapters rather than collections, this allows the wardrobe to progress without erasure. A chapter introduces evolution while preserving continuity. New pieces deepen what came before. Earlier pieces remain compatible with what follows. Nothing is made obsolete.
Material and craftsmanship remain central to the house. Fabrics are sourced from mills selected for their heritage, quality, and shared principles, with an emphasis on natural fibres. The intention is to create clothing with lasting value in both make and meaning.
Chapter I marks a more defined expression of the house. It introduces a wardrobe shaped by alignment, the point at which dress and self coincide, and by the belief that the most lasting pieces are those that feel like a true reflection of your identity.
